Hotline for the Poacher-800-662-7137.You can contact the people in the know online at www.ncwildlife.org or call this number(919-707-0050 for information on any kind of wild turkey issues. This is of course my state of North Carolina. Spring Turkey hunt starts April 14 and goes through May 12.Youth hunting is on April 7.You must apply for spring game land permits by March 1.You will need before July a hunting license or Hunter Education Certificate. Your bag limit for North Carolina is one bearded turkey per day and 2 for each calendar year. You can have legal hours from 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset. This will give you a full hunting day with lots of excitement in the wonderful sport of seeing who's smarter-you or the turkeys.Make no mistake! Those birds have many tricks up their feathers to lose you. The records say they have a population of 150,000 and there is a harvest of 11,706 which I feel is pretty good.Remember to go online or call for any regulations or laws you're in doubt of and see if you can outsmart the gobbler this year.Have fun and please be safe.
