Backpacks - Essential Camping Equipment

Backpacks out in the wilderness on a camping trip is almost as needful as breathing. Plus the right quality. After a few hiking trips you’ll learn what’s right for you.

Essential equipment covers several areas out camping.

I’m a woodsman from early childhood and one thing that can put your life in danger is to suddenly find your “waterjug” empty or mighty low. There’s quite a few ways to carry water and we all have our own pattern of what we carry.

Never forget that the best you can buy canteen can get a tiny leak after years of use in certain areas where a weakness or flaw is that you never knew existed.

Do you know what the hot sun with a breeze blowing in a dry gully rain washed valley wilderness can do to a person without any water?

So here’s a tip you should never forget. Go to any good health food or outdoor store and buy tablets just for treating water from a stream or lake or river to carry with you.

There is tablets made from iodine or you can buy the tincture of iodine, but you don’t want to use iodine for long periods of time.

You can get chlorinated treatment for your drinking water purity. There are some viruses that neither of these will kill.

Boiling your water for 3-5 minutes is my suggestion to you to really be on the safe side. Some say boil 1 minute but I prefer at least 3 minutes.

Backpacks and other camping essential equipment will make your outing a great success. Learn from reading then put what you’ve learned into actual practice.
